- eliminate sweets and flour from your diet.
Okay, we can agree on these points, but not all of them. So how can we live without sweets? After all, thanks to sweets we replenish vitamin B1, our brain works much faster with glucose, we become kinder.
And yet, there is salvation – these are natural fruit-based sweets. They are very useful for the human body, less caloric and contain a huge amount of vitamins.
Ukrainian natural sweets market: production
Ukraine plays a significant role in the world market in the cultivation and supply of fruits and berries. According to the State Geocadastre, orchards occupy more than 727.2 thousand hectares. The main leader of fruit crops are apples, their gross harvest in 2016 amounted to 2 million tons. Also, pears, apricots, plums and peaches are grown. In 2016, the most productive berry of the country was strawberries. The harvest amounted to 70 thousand tons, and raspberries – 42 thousand tons.

Due to the abundance of different types of fruits on the Ukrainian market, the country began to produce natural fruit-based sweets.
Confectionery factory “Sladkiy Mir” is the main trademark of Ukraine for the production of natural sugar-free sweets. The factory’s products:
- marmalade;
- lukum;
- health food bars;
- chocolate candy.
Fruit Bread Healthy Food Bars are sugar-free and therefore they are very popular among consumers. These bars are suitable for people who lead a healthy lifestyle. The composition of sweets is dried fruits with the addition of fruit juice.
Bob Snail Company produces fruit-based diet sweets. The main ingredient of the “yummy” is apple puree with the addition of different fruit flavors. The Bob Snail brand is only 1.5 years old, but it has already become popular among customers.
Trade mark “Licorice mrya” – is engaged in the production:
- marshmallows;

Ukrainian natural sweets market: exports and imports
Unfortunately, natural sweets made by Ukrainian producers are not exported yet. Because this is a new industry for the Ukrainian market, and it has not had time to develop to the export scale.

Since 2016, the Ukrainian market has been filled with domestic products of natural sweets by 68%. Until the end of 2015, 85% of products on supermarket shelves were imported goods. The demand for domestic products increased after the currency exchange rate jump, as imported products became 2-3 times more expensive. Also, there are more producers of fruit-based sweets on the Ukrainian market. The main importers of natural sweets for Ukraine are and were: the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, France, Germany, Italy. Now the Ukrainian market is filled with imported goods by only 25%.
