Depending on the ageing period, there are collection wines, vintage wines, aged wines, wines without ageing and young wines.

Young wines are natural ordinary table wines that are sold (offered for sale) before January 1 of the year following the grape harvest.

Unaged wines differ from young wines only by the fact that they are sold after January 1 of the year following the grape harvest.

Aged wines are wines with a mandatory ageing period of at least 6 months.

Vintage wines are the best aged wines of high quality with a mandatory ageing period of at least 1.5 years (for table wines) or at least 2 years (for spirits and dessert wines).

Collection wines are the best vintage wines, which should be aged for at least 3 years, most often the ageing of such wines reaches dozens or even hundreds of years.

Wine consumption in Ukraine

The average Ukrainian consumes about 5.8 liters of wine per year.
