Black Note e-liquid label design
Black Note is an American premium brand that regularly hits the top of the liquid rankings in terms of quality, popularity and sales. The label design of this juice is very thoughtful, with an aged composition. It is important to note that the brand was clearly created according to a plan, as all the elements are linked together. The name – literally translates to “Black Note.” Each of the names of the line is a musical term (Prelude, Forte, Sonata, Legato, Solo, Quartet).
The background backing of the label is a faded field that looks like a sheet of music. The graphic part of the element is a black treble clef.
Each of the packs is stamped with text about the manual production of the liquid and its quality.

Five Pawns jus label design.
Another premium liquid whose design we want to talk about is Five Pawns. This is an American brand whose design style echoes the previous example. There are also burnout colors here, and references to handmade production. We will tell you more about them.
All fields, including the name of the line and the date of production are filled with retro fonts, and the outer packaging-tube has the signature of the person who is responsible for the production of the batch of liquid. The handmade cosmetics brand Lush uses a similar system. This technique works for niche manufacturers of products in the mid-plus and above category. Such an approach strengthens the brand’s connection with the consumer, establishes emotional contact, and increases trust in the brand.

Ripe Vapes vaporizer label design: tree of knowledge and gift wrapping
The design of the Ripe Vapes label (the closest translation is ripe vapor or ripe vapor) also incorporates echoes of the past. This is reflected in the kraft label and black typographic illustration, which could just as easily have been found in a 17th century manuscript. The creators have thoughtfully designed the outer packaging for the kit as well. Since this is a premium liquid, they chose a wooden box with filler that protects the glass bottles from the possibility of damage.

13th Floor Elevapors vape liquid design: youth and joy
13th Floor Elevapors is a premium liquid that is aimed at a young audience. This confirms both the brand philosophy (freedom, desire to travel, chanting uncompromising) and the appearance of the label. The dynamic lines in the central field and acid colors are associated with 80s music and emphasize the brand’s playful, freedom-loving image. They also fit well with the promise in the brand name (it features a play on words that hints at flying on clouds, at the height of the 13th floor).

Vape juice design: the Cuttwood brand inheritance technique
Another interesting and important example is the Cuttwood brand, whose appearance awakens persistent associations with the design of Jack Daniel’s label. The move is not entirely honest, but it is successful. The product is subconsciously perceived by the audience as a quality product. At the same time, there is no direct plagiarism here, but rather imitation.

Styling the vaping liquid lineup: cultural appropriation in action
The creators of Ronin liquids (a term from medieval Japan, a samurai who has lost his social weight to a suzerain and is forced to become a hermit) took a simple route. They built the brand image on a famous legend from the Japanese Middle Ages. So on the label you can find illustrations with recognizable images that are associated with Japan. For example, Tsunami liquid shows a wave, which is a stylization of the work of the artist Katsushiki Hokusai – “The Great Wave in Kanagawa”.

Creating a logo for vaping liquid: brutalism and echoes of Versace
Another interesting example of vape liquid label design is Phillip Rocke. The company plays with biker motifs, the logo fonts are quite aggressive, and the label rims resemble an emblem or coat of arms. In the upper part of the package there is a head, which brings to mind antique statues and the Versace logo. It completes the image of the brand.
The combination of biker and antique motifs is not the most obvious solution, but together the logo and label look organic and are well remembered.

Label design for vaping liquids of the mid-price segment
Vape liquid bottle design: shapes banal and not so banal
The most classic variant of packaging for liquids is a glass jar. It is used by all the brands we wrote about above. The second most popular is a plastic container, it is cheaper and is used for self-samples, liquids of low, sometimes – medium price segment.However, there are other options.
In the previous article, we mentioned the unusual form of e-liquid packaging by Ukrainian producers VapeRoof. And while preparing this material, we came across the American premium brand Scull Tonic. Their packaging is also in the form of a skull, but not a black matte one, but a transparent one with multicolored shimmers, depending on the taste. By the way, packages of different shapes can be found on Chinese websites that wholesale polyester clothing, cosmetics of dubious quality and fakes of Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Max.

N. B. Shaped bottles have their disadvantages – you won’t be able to use them for mini versions of juice. The design of the vaping liquid samples is just as important as the main jar. A simple label of any of the liquids we described above can be easily produced in a smaller format and glued onto a plastic bottle. Molding mini-test bottles in the shape of something will be problematic, and without this skull, part of the brand image will be lost, and the consumer’s impression will not be complete.

Lost Art is a liquid that perfectly captures the mood of California: eternal summer and Venice Beach. The style of colage illustrations is a variation on the advertising imagery of the early 2000s. It is a fashion trend that came from the streets and was picked up by global brands (Fanta and Dirol redesigned their packaging in a similar style in mid-2016).

The Russian brand “Couple’s Kitchen” was developed for a small concept bar. Not only the packaging of liquor, but also the craft beer is decorated in a similar style. The logo is also present on all the carriers of the establishment’s corporate style. At the center of the idea is a character, a bearded tattooed vaper. The idea is good, the contrived severity of the character is both amusing and hilarious. And if the product packaging evokes feelings, it works.
