  3. Nostalgia for things made by hand, somewhat crudely but carefully. The consumer is fed up with simply copying. To avoid this, designers have refined the old by mastering the decorating techniques of the past.
  4. The evolution of green or the new life of packaging. In this particular case, the trend has been around for many years, as product packaging was mostly made of glass and reused for recycling.
  5. Storytelling – stories on a bottle about the creation of a brand, about interesting facts or anything else. Not always true, but still a story.

According to the results of the ProdExpoPak-2016 contest, the winner in the category “Packaging for food and beverages” was Chinggis Gold Limited Edition(left) for a bottle for spirits in the premium segment.

At the International tasting competition “Best vodka 2016” in Moscow, four gold medals were won by the brands “Minskaya Kristall“, “Vseslav Charodey Premium” and new products produced by “Calvile Apple” (right), “Sam Ogon’Rzhanoy“.

The specialized competition World Vodka Awards every year evaluates not only the taste qualities, but also the appearance of the product. Based on the scores from both categories, the judges select the best of the best.

During the flavor evaluation phase, the competition is judged by leading journalists, beverage merchants, bartenders, mixologists and hoteliers.

Design experts at the second stage evaluate the presented goods and select the winners. They are awarded medals and moved to the next round, where the best of the best is determined.

In selecting the best design, judges evaluate the quality of the design, innovative use of materials and production methods. All entries in each category are evaluated by all judges against clearly defined criteria:

  • category breakthrough;
  • persuasiveness;
  • popularity;
  • inspiration.

Most of the winners had exactly simple designs, no frills, just the brand name.
